Community Safety Matters

Community Safety is a very significant issue for Hastings and is often cited as the single biggest concern in surveys of residents and businesses in the Town. There are currently some significant changes to the way in which Policing, Crime and Community Safety issues will be dealt with in the future. These include the election of the Police and Crime Commissioner the development of new Community Safety plans at a County and local level.

Hastings Community Network feel that these issues are significant ones and are considering hosting a workshop style event at which we would be seeking to invite a representatives from the Police and Crime Commissioners office together with those with responsibility for Community Safety at a County and Borough level to explain their plans and priorities for 2013/2014. Before we undertake the planning of this activity HCN wanted to gauge the levels of interest from local organisations to ascertain:-

a. If your organisation would attend such an event
b. If you wanted to register your interest in being included on an e-distribution list on issues relating to Community Safety

There is also an opportunity to make comments on the ESCC draft Community Safety Strategy Business Plan for 2013/14.  This includes setting their priority areas for the next 12 months.  This is a link to the executive summary of the strategic assessment of 2012 -
